ON Tuesday 9th July 24 DCRFU held its 138th AGM. At the AGM there were the installations of the New County President for 24-25 and the New County Patron plus the presentation to Durham University Palatinates for winning DN Counties 3.


PRESIDENT

Congratulations to our new County President Kevin Robinson from Darlington Mowden Park RFC.

Kevin was installed as President for the 2024-2025 season at the 138th County AGM last night at Durham City RFC. Kevin becomes the 90th President of the County.

Kevin is pictured receiving his blazer badge from outgoing President Charles T. Thoburn from Ryton RFC. Charles is now our Immediate Past-President.

Congratulations Kevin. Enjoy your presidential season.


PATRON

Meet the new Patron of Durham County RFU Christopher McLoughlin.

Chris is pictured with new County President Kevin Robinson from Darlington Mowden Park .

Chris replaces former County Captain and England Captain Mike Weston following his death in December 2023.

For over 60 years Chris has administrated rugby for club West Hartlepool TDSOB RFC , Hartlepool & District and the County.

Chris is a Past-President (1991-1992) and Honorary Secretary (1992-2011) of the County and is our historian.

His volunteer work has previously been recognised on a number of occasions and most notably with the RFU award of the Zurich England Rugby Unsung Hero in 2001-2002 season.

We are delighted that the County’s number one supporter and longest serving volunteer accepted the role of Patron.

DURHAM UNIVERSITY RFC

In his last official duty, Charles T. Thoburn (County President 2023-2024 season) presents Durham University RFC County Representative Paul Baty with the North Division English Clubs Championship Counties 3 Durham & Northumberland League Winners plaque.

Paul receives the plaque on behalf of the Durham University RFC and the victorious Palatinates team. Congratulations from Paul and the County go to the players, the coaches Sean Wiles, Paul Brookes and the support staff for the success. Good luck in the season
